While I don't mind it being split into 3 books so much, with how much story is left to wrap up, does anyone else think it would be ridiculous to release the 3 sections that far apart? Having to potentially wait 2+ years to FINALLY read the ending is kind of a turnoff.

I don't know if this one is full-on schizophrenia, but there's a short story called "The Yellow Wallpaper," by Charlotte Perkins Gilman that is really good.

From what I remember of reading the Coelura, I think it was a random (and not even that great) short story. I didn't see any connections to Pern at all.

One of my faves that no one's mentioned yet is "The Ordinary Princess" by M.M. Kaye. My 5th grade teacher gave it to me way back when, and I reread it a lot. I also absolutely love Dianna Wynn Jones' works, especially "Witch Week" and her other Chronicles of Chrestomanci books.
