Wally Lamb: I Know This Much Is True

I was like some of you other guys. I didn't want to start it because of the size of the book I simply felt overwhelmed. My friend suggested I read it and finally gave it a go and I am 200 pages from the end. I absolutely love it I have really enjoyed it. I also have a copy of 'She's come...

    Maeve Binchy

It's been a long time since I read anything by this author but I always loved 'Echos' when it came out and would like to read it again sometime.

Sue Monk Kidd: The Secret Life Of Bees

I have just read The Mermaid Chair and thought it equally beautiful if not more lovely than The Secret Life of Bees. I am now looking up some of her non fiction books.

Aron Ralston: Between a Rock and a Hard Place

I agree re the blame. He takes full responsibility for his actions both in this incident and other close shaves he talks about. I know what you mean Twilite about sometimes people making a fast buck from rattling out a story and that can put me off but I really didn't get that feel from this...

Lionel Shriver: We Need To Talk About Kevin

We need to Talk about Kevin Lionel Shriver I have just finished reading this and thought it was superb. I wondered if anyone else had read it and wanted to talk about it? It is a series of letters a mother writes to her estranged husband two years after their son goes to prison for killing...

Sue Monk Kidd: The Secret Life Of Bees

I read this book a couple of weeks ago and thought it was beautiful. It only took a couple of days to read and I just loved it. It was moving but also humorous and sad as well but like someone else said not sickly sweet. just an easy read which I loved.

Mark Haddon: The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime

I loved this book. The author clearly has an insight into Asperger Syndrome. I work with pupils with AS and it was like listening to them speak. It really helps people get inside the mind of someone with AS and my daughter found it helpful for understand the child I was working with better...

How often do you buy books?

I can't seem to stop buying books  I have a huge pile of books to be read which then splits off into sub piles. I so love reading though and I sell them on sometimes or lend them out, give them away etc so my addiction brings pleasure to many people ;)

Book Crossing - Recycling books 'into the wild'

I like the idea but I find the books too precious and I always wonder what has happened to the books that haven't been 'caught' If I did release any it would be ones that I wasn't too worried about saying goodbye too or had bought second hand for a few (english) pence. My nice books I would...
