Who likes Star Wars?

Okay, do we have a Star Wars thread?

I'm totally looking forward to Revenge of the Sith. I figured it can't be worse than the earlier 2 prequels.

Or can it?

I hated the first one. It was so bad I actually believed that the second one was good, despite the oh so terrible dialogue (anyone remember *that* fireplace scene? Ewww).

I think it should be kind of obvious that I'm a Star Wars fan...an original fan, not a fan of the prequel crap. The first one was terrible, the second one was terrible...I've no reason to believe that the third will be anything but terrible. However, I will be there to see it at some point....probably a waste of my money, but I am interested to see how they transition the idiot anakin to Darth Vader.

i agree. could the 3rd be even worse than the first 2? maybe if pamela anderson is like chewie's mom or something. but really anakin has been nothing but a disappointment, it will be a relief to see him become vader.

I loved the original three but hated the two prequels. Unfortunately I can't see Revenge of the Sith being any better (though it would be hard pressed to be any worse!). Saying that we will probably still go and see it

I only like The Empire Strikes Back - the rest are all crap. I've not seen Part II though.

I remember the original Star Wars at the theater in '78 or'79. From the first scene with the opening script rolling away into space, and then the underside of that great huge ship, with the John Williams score blasting away, it totally rocked my world! I liked the "The Empire Strikes Back" almost as much. After that, the originality sort of dissipated and it seemed to evolve into a sort of soap opera of the stars(Hollywood types), with special effects.
Just personal opinion..I know it has a great story line!

I'm in the minority here. I saw Star Wars for the first time last year and purposefully read Cloak of Deception after seeing ep1 (before watching ep2). I think that made the prequels better for me.

Episode 2 is my favorite... (ducks) I'm surprised I haven't worn out the dvd yet, due to how many times I've watched it.

No I'm really the minority...I do not like Star Wars at all! I never have and I never will. It just doesn't appeal to me. I don't like that genre of movie.

A few of my friends hate Star Wars too, and one has never even seen it. So, you aren't alone. :)

Oh God, somebody chain me down and hand me some tranquilisers! :D

I HATE the new movies. I liked Star Wars eps 4 and 5 but then Lucas lost the plot and began his slide downward with ep 6 which was a complete reworking of the first movie but with teddy bears thrown into it. *pukes*

I have seen eps 1 and 2 and BAD just isn't the word. In fact, I don't think a word even exists for how bad they are! I can say with all honesty and no doubt that they are, in fact, the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life! I won't be going to see the third one! I won't see it because it will be just as crappy and on principle. All Lucas cares about is money and his own ego. I won't be giving that man any more money!

I hear the new movie will have a song and dance number in it

Episode-Schmepisode! All you guys talking about episode 2, and episode 4 and prequels 3,4, and 5, more episodes and prequels, versus the original sequels...How the hell many are there, anyway?!
And Mr. Wabbit, have a few xanax, and tell us how you REALLY feel :p

bwa hahahahahahhahahhahahahha.

anyway. no i agree wabbit, they sucked truly. but i still want to see anakin go over. then i will do what i do with aliens 3 and 4 and highlander 2 and 3 and however many there are. simply choose to believe they do not exist.

I've been hooked since the very first time I saw Star Wars in the theater. I, II, and III can only be watched and enjoyed by true Star Wars Geeks because thats the only way you can gloss over the bad acting. But its not about the acting. Duh!

Okay, here comes my question: Why oh why did Quigon Jinn not disappear when he died? Yoda and Obiwan did.

Oh, did I say I enjoyed Ep. II because Yoda bouncing around with a lightsaber really rocked?

Hey, I'm not a Star Wars geek... just cause I have a stuffed artoo hanging from my rearview mirror, and another one in my kitchen windowsill, and a slew of the legos and figures sitting on a shelf in my living room... and I know the soundtrack to ep2 by heart...

err....argument is failing....

I don't care what anyone says - Ewan McGregor is reason enough to like ep1 2 and 3. :p
