    The Black Magician Trilogy

interesting. I just bought it a couple of days ago, because it somehow caught my interest (the sleek, uncheesy cover, untypical to many fantasy books surely did its part) and started reading it yesterday. I haven't read much yet but I am glad to see that it receives such kind words here in the...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

a movie, huh? or not respectively... well I have to somewhat agree with the quoted passage. although I think the trick is to realise, that in a movie, we just see one person's interpretaion of the story. the way stuff looks like and the way characters look like. especially if this is the...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

akright, will do. but I guess The Talisman has to wait. I just bought a book called "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" by Toby Young. Somehow the title just appealed to me ;-)

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

so what is the fuss about that new version of Gunslinger? Is it worth to read it? what has been added, what is there that makes me have to buy this book. I am not so much of a completist, so I wonder... there I go and finished Insomnia. What a bore! the story is not so bad actually, I mean...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

Libra, I know the feeling. When I was reading DT 7, I was kinda slow on it, savoring the last pages that King had ever written on DT, although the suspense was killing me. but hey, I lived at the beach and had almost better things to do than read DT (I know, it sounds like blasphemy, but trust...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

I think there's tons of connections in many books. I guess there's even a chart on some website or so. I bet a google for connections will show up many results. anyways, as for Insomnia and Eyes of the Dragon... I have alsmot finished Insomnia and while it's finally going toward a somewhat...

    Hype Monkeys & Ignorant Readers

well Geenh, as I said, I didn't mean any offense and I understood what you meant, it just came across a bit categorically. you know like there's a lot of anti-hype monkeys, who just deny anything that is hyped out of principle and they even end up thinking they're amazingly smart doing that. but...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

I never read The Talisman, but heard it might actually be a good story, DT connected or not. do you suggest I read that after I finished INSOMNIA or would you rather recommend another book for me?

    Hype Monkeys & Ignorant Readers

Well Libra, I don't think it's a total waste of time. Just read my previous post. It depends on what you expect. Give it a try, I got sucked in from the first few pages, maybe you will too. If not, you can always put it back on the bookstand in your store, right? :)

    Hype Monkeys & Ignorant Readers

no offense Geenh, but that's a very ignorant position you take here. it's like those wanna-be critics who just despise anything that made a buck out of principle. I am not saying you have to like it because 5 million other people like it too, but you shouldn't categorically deny anything that...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

well, I am usually ignorant when it comes to analyzing books, finding deeper meanings or simply predicting stuff, but honestly, I almost certainly knew that everybody but roland would die or leave him. not necessarily in what order, but I knew he'd be alone in the end. or at least I had a pretty...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

hmm, not much discussing going on here... too bad, there's volumes to write about the DT (pun intended). come on y'all, share your thoughts and opinions with your fellow gunslingers.

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

I am reading INSOMNIA as we speak and am about halfway through. I know from DT that there are quite a few references, but so far I haven't seen anything pivotal to the DT series. sure references, but you can live without them... but I might change my opinion after i finished the book, who knows?!

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

alright, there's a gazillion thoughts and opinions I'd like to add, but I'll start with a few only, since time is short and I don't wanna write a whole book and scare away could be "discussers" :) first of: I loved DT, no matter what I might criticise, I loved it! the end was just perfect...

    My Book Review ;)

I found Deception point a bit lengthy. I liked it, but I prefer digital fortress over it. somehow I just didn't get into deception point as I did into the other dan brown books. DaVinci and Angels & Demons are awesoem though. Is Brown writing a new book right now? Anyone know anything about it?

oh, I just realised I phrased my question kinda awkward. I of course meant how is Nelson DeMille... and I read all 4 brown books, ha! ;)

Frank Herbert, Brian Herbet: Like Father... not really

hello rogue, I just finished reading the DUNE thread and I am sorry to say, that is has very little to do with my topic here. did you read it through? true, brian gets mentioned, but not the way I asked my question. and I'd rather start a new thread on a different topic, than start a...
