If you don't like the contenets of a book-Don't read it. But why ban the book as a whole? We really don't need thought police

I love that Bridge to Terabithiawas banned because it "contains language and subject matter that set bad examples and give students negative views of life." God forbid anyone give a view of real life in a children's book! :whistling:

Why isn't the bible banned. In the first chapter you have examples of rape, incest, murder, slavery, and don't forget the way women are treated.

Grapes of Wrath? Banned by "Okies"? I would understand if Californians banned it for showing the mistreatment toward Okies.

Word. On both scores...Seems to me most of the challenged works are the ones with the most to say...if they're 'ratteling cages' perhaps it's wise to read them to see why.
