The Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver

Child 44 - Tom Rob Smith

Isabelle The Navigator - Luke Davies

The Bone Collector - Jeffrey Deaver

I Am Legend - Richard Matheson

The Strain - Guillermo Del Toro & Chuck Hogan

If I was going to recommend one of these it would be Child 44 closely followed by The Strain. Just saying...

The Letter of the Law - Tim Green
Mary Mary - James Patterson
A Farewell to Arms - Ernest Hemingway
Swimming to Catalina - Stuart Woods
Fatal - Michael Palmer
Night of Thunder - Stephen Hunter
Cross - James Patterson

If you were only allowed to recommend one of these, which would it be?

The Gathering Dead / Knight, Stephen

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children / Riggs, Ransom

The Hanover Square Affair (Captain Lacey Regency Mysteries) / Gardner, Ashley

Did you like or dislike the end?

Dislike. Terrible end and made no sense at all. I don't even think Zusak knew how to end it and just made up all that to finish the book. Too bad too because the rest of the book was great.

Lolita, Vladimir Nabokov

Would love to hear your thoughts on it - we have a really really long thread on it here.

My loot:

Nazi Literature In The Americas - Bolaño, Roberto
Mrs Dalloway - Woolf, Virginia
I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive - Earle, Steve
Indignation - Roth, Philip
Gösta Berling's Saga - Lagerlöf, Selma
The Big Nowhere - Ellroy, James

Not a whole lot for July, but all of them (except possibly Roth) really really good.

Through Black Spruce by Joseph Boyden
The Things That Keep Us Here by Carla Buckley
The Foreshadowing by Marcus Sedgwick
Fatherland by Robert Harris
Eye Lake by Tristan Hughes
War Horse by Michael Morpurgo
