The Enchanter and Pnin both by Nabokov and from Amazon for the bargain price of £11.97

The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood, and Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster both in paperback from QPD, at extortionate prices, but I got a free book, and a free Granta diary.

The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides and Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs from a very very great new (at least new to me) shop here called FOPP, for £3 each.

Round Ireland with a Fridge by Tony Hawks and Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood from a cheap little used bookshop.

And Minority Report by Philip K. Dick for £1.49 from Oxfam Books, bargain!
 
At the library yesterday, I investigated the sale cart and found these 20 children's books to bring home. I paid $5 for the lot:

Can somebody tell me how to keep myself from buying books?:eek:

As long as you have plenty of space, you must continue to buy books. Those are the rules. :D Let us know when you run out of space, and then we'll review the rules (but I don't think they will change much.)
 
The local bookstore was having a sale, so I picked up Lord John and the Private Matter by Diana Gabaldon, as well as purchasing The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King from a NZ version of eBay
 
Received Going Postal by Terry Prachett in the post today, as part of a bookring. This will be my first Terry Prachett read (hopefully) right through, so I'm very excited. I've heard great things about this guy.

You should have seen my youngest kids when they investigated this stuffed bookbag I brought home. Even my reluctant reader was excited and she made me read several of the books to the group. With Sunken Treasures, I pulled out my new world atlas(Thanks Stewart!) and we looked at the Florida Keys..Life is good!

While out getting a few last minute Valentines Day gifts for my boyfriend, I got myself one book. :)
