Top ten things to do before...

What are the top ten things you really want to experience before you're.. er ...dead.

Mine, in no particular order...

1) Climb Mount Everest (or more realistically just get to Base camp)
2) See the temples at Luxor & Karnak
3) Go scuba diving in the Red Sea
4) Gamble at a casino in Monte Carlo
5) Walk through Scotland - from the border to Cape Wrath (all because of Robin Neillands)
6) Visit Machu Picchu
7)Finish writing at least one the various stories I've started - just to experience the relief.
8)dance at the festival in Karnataka
9) try a few er...adult things.. in Holland
10)Spend a night in the Tower of London.

Only one, that I'll achieve never making a list like this. ;)

No, I, er, try not to think about dying, to be honest. I could liv... okay, I won't say that.

Climb the whole of Mount Everest! Go on, you can do it. Why you would want to do it is a whole different question, but if you want to, you can.

jeez, no way, never ever. That place is scary enough at midday.

Don't gamble, it ruins your life. Scuba diving? Nah. Walk through Scotland? Nah...
 
1. Visit the pyramids of Egypt
2. Tour the wine countries of Italy and France
3. Ride the gondolas of Venice (done it)
4. Climb the Great Wall of China (done it twice)
5. Climb the waterfall of Dunn River in Ocho Rios, Jamaica (done it)
6. Snorkel in the clear blue oceans of the Caribbean (done it)
7. Visit the great cities of Italy (did Rome, Florence, Venice but want to go back for Milan, Tuscany, and Sicily)
8. Visit Stonehenge
9. Visit the Middle East, particularly Turkey
10. Go to an Elvis wedding in Vegas (done it)
11. Visit London
12. White water rafting (done it, even though I can't swim)
13. Carnivale at Rio de Janeiro
14. Mardi Gras at New Orleans (this one isn't going to happen now)
15. Find my one true love (found him, married him:D )

Mardi Gras would have been on my list too but never mind.

I'd be beyond happy if I made it to base camp - climbing it all is just too much hard work :D .
Why? Same reason I want to do everything else on that list, when those places are mentioned or I see a picture or whatever, I get a funny yearning feeling.

I'm pretty sure there's a relief afterwards, although perhaps I should have used the word Satisfaction - you see this is why I can't finish them - i'm useless:( .

I'm still hoping, but it's going to be years, if ever, that New Orleans will be like before.

I need to come up with a revised list, I've done almost half of the stuff on my original list already. And no, finding Mr. Right was not one on my original list, but I thought it's a good one to add:D .
 
1. Visit the Acropolis in Athens
2. Visit the ruins in Crete
3. Visit Rome
4. Visit the Great Pyramids
5. Visit the Pyramids in South America
6. Climb the Great Wall of China
7. Visit Auschwitz
8. Visit the Great Tower of London
9. Go to the Czech Republic
10. Read War and Peace

  6. Harumph!
  7. Aargh!

Sh*t! What a load of boll**ks. The only things I want to do are the things I never will be able to do.

1) Sing in tune...perhaps with a voice akin to Karen Carpenter.

2) Have someone rich, handsome, clever and funny fall in love with me.

3) Do a really big robbery and get away with it.

4) Take heroin. I've heard it's better than life.

5) Travel in time (I'd only go backwards though).

6) Be able to read people's thoughts, animals too.

7) Be charming enough to be a brilliant con artist.

8) Flap my arms and fly. A few metres would do me.

9) Own an invisibility cloak.

10) Be myself.

Stewart, I thought numbers 6 & 7 on your list were very ambitious.

I'd give you odds of 1000/1 - nothing to do with you, but they're all either gay or Bill Gates :D .

8.Visit the FDR presidential library
7.Visit the John Steinbeck museum in CA.
6.see another Bob Dylan concert
5.Visit Havana, Cuba
4.Do the NY marathon
3.Visit NYC and chat with Peder at a cafe discussing Nabokov.:cool:
2.Rocky Mountain national park...again....and again....and again.....
1.Meet Dan Brown with Stewart.:D
 
The numbering doesn't mean anything....

1. Drive across the US and back throw Canada
2. Climb the highest mountain in Norway witch is 2469 meters above the sea (Mount Everest would have been great, but I have to be realistic.)
3. Wild-safari in Tanzania to see the big five and more beautiful animals and nature
4.Climb the Great Wall of China
5.Ride the gondolas of Venice
6.Visit the pyramids of Egypt
7.Travel across Australia
8.Marry my boyfriend twice (first we wanna go abroad and marry without anyone knowing about it before we come home and a Church wedding some months after we come home with family and friends)
9. Visit my sponsor child in Bolivia
10.See Bon Jovi in concert

SFG75, I thought your list would basically be made up of the cigars you still hadn't tried ;) .

Baddie, the wild safari sounds well..wild. I'd have to second Steffee on the why get married twice though, once is bad enough :D .
