What albums have interested you thus far in 2010

Not that all "modern" music is based entirely on the blues, either. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is 44 too.

Hi dear friend
i like music but now there is no such good album. If you can suggest some albums so i give you THANKS in advance...............

Roky Erickson & Okkervil River - True Love Cast Out All Evil (impossible comeback that's just as good as it has no right to be)

I saw Okkervil River on Austin City Limits several weeks ago. Nice band.

Two from this year I'm liking are:

The Dirty Heads - Any Port in a Storm
The Black Keys - Brothers

two albums that I might give a try but the reviews discourage me are Heart's new album & the Goo Goo dolls new album- especially the latter. Both Rollingstone & AMG hasn't been much impressed with the new Goo's album. In fact Heart's CD has been well recieved by both parties, but am wonderign whehter it is just out of Generosity. Anyone tried out these two CDs? How'd you find'em if you did ?

I recently picked up Suburbs by Arcade Fire....excellent.

As far as the blues go....check out the Black Keys...maybe not old-school but they definently bring the blues back to life.

Found out Brandon Flowers, front man for The Killers, has a solo album coming out tomorrow.

Linkin Park also has an album out but I don't know know if I'm going to pick that one up since their last one was a disappointment.

Yeah I can guess you can say that. It wasn't great by any means. It's almost if they put the thing together in 1 month thinking their name would sell. I love that first CD of theirs though.

Disappointment is an understatement.

I just got done listening to the new Linkin Park CD. If you thought the last one was bad and that they couldn't get any worse, surprise, this album is worse than that album. You can forget about the Linkin Park of old because this album it seems like they got rid of the guitarist, bassist, and drummer. It's like Chester, Joseph Hahn and Mike messed around with some dinky techno instrument and added some lyrics to it.

A very bad cd overall.

Joe Satriani, Doobies ...and some

black swans & warmhole wizards - Joe Satriani :star4:

also,
world gone crazy - doobie brothers (sounds pretty good)

couldn't listen to this following proper, besides few songs from the phil collins album of motown covers...
mixed race - tricky
hurley - weezer
going back - phil collins
clapton - (ehhh...) eric clapton
hands all over - maroon 5
commitment - seal

Public Enemies - OST . I haven't watched the movie, just happened to listen to a piece on the Soundtrack and loved the whole album

Tricky - Mixed Race and Future Sound of London - Environments Vol.3 are the only CDs this year that have done anything for me.

Listening to Mixed Race now actually. It's the best thing he's put out since Maxinquaye I think, and I've liked most of what he has put out.

So, what's the verdict?
