London car bomb scare

No kidding! This kind of story makes me grateful once again to be from Podunk Ks, where we're too obscure to be any use to terrorists or tourists. Let's hear it for sunflowers and cow pastures. I'm glad this incident was nipped in the bud.

I'm listening to CNN on SIRIUS radio right now. It's 10:00 a.m. CST and they are reporting that a car on fire has crashed into an airport. What is going on over there?

Personal gripe-not that I have many.;) The coverage of this is just nauseating. All that is going on is the reporters talking in circles and then stating: "we don't know for sure but...." and then speculating. Things like that are what leads to false ideas about events, which I just hate.

Just as fast food workers go to school to learn to talk gibberish through those drive through speakers, journalists must go to school to learn to fabricate/generate news when they lack newsworthy facts. I'm sure I'm right..look it up!

This is the penalty we pay for not knowing who we are letting in; and if it's home grown then it's the penalty we pay for being to pc.

Two failed car bombs and a crappy little fire. If they're not home grown it's at least safe to assume that they're British educated. You know, given the level of incompetence displayed.

You might be right; they would be then susceptible to some sort of indoctrination...............we are back to the 77 (I've lost count) virgin thingy again.

Leader of the BNP.

Thank you. I didn't know that.

But I think Stewart now has a bit of explaining to do. Maybe back up his comment by explaining why he would think that; unless he had been taken over by political correctness bug then no explanation is needed.

It sounds to me more like someone who read the post where you said that when people said that to you it made you want to rip their heads off and then decided to wind you up a bit. But that's just my interpretation and I'm hardly in a position to comment on Litany's motivations. She's a mystery to me.

No idea what you are talking about.

One of the more interesting side items about this whole ordeal is the topic of Muslims in Europe vs. America. On our side of the great pond, "they" tend to be a tad bit older, more educated, and very much assimilated. They came during the reign of the Ayatollah, Nasser, and Hussein and want none of that. Their loyalty to our government is one of the more ignored things that other than an occasional article or two in The Nation or The Atlantic. That of course, is not like the population that exists in many European nations-rife unemployment due to discrimination, younger, and less educated. We must also be careful as to when things like this happen, to not apply a huge brush to an entire segment of the population due to the crazed actions of a few.
