So, I got a PS3 for Christmas

Here are the games I bought for it:
1.Assassin's Creed II:I got to open this gift early, and I love it
2.Splinter Cell: Double Agent: I've played Chaos Theory and Double Agent on the PS2,and I can't wait to play this.
3.Red Dead Redemption: I love westerns,so I had to have this game
4.God of War III: I've played the first two for PS2,and loved them. This is the game I'm looking forward to most.
5.Resident Evil 5: I really liked RE4,and this has co-op. Co-op is a huge improvement for me since my brother and I like to play together quite often.

So,did I make a good selection?

I don't have any of those games. I am a COD (Call of Duty) fan myself. My favorite would have to be COD 5 World at War.

I mainly use my PS3 to play Blue Ray movies though.

I've only played "red dead revolver" on my nephew's PS2 with him. It's an awesome game. I can only beat him if I'm the guy that has the two pistols. I think you did very well. I hear halo is very addictive, did you not get that one for some reason?

You an old-timer? Halo is for the Xbox systems silly :flowers:.

I must get myself a PS3. I'm wanting to play The Last Guardian when it comes out next year. Plus I wouldn't mind playing Red Dead Revolver.

Have recently just got back into gaming, although my preference is for puzzle games over shooters, I've recently completed Portal and Machinarium. Currently playing Tales Of Monkey Island (which has the worst movement system I've used in ages) and I'm looking forward to Portal 2 in April. The only downside to using a Mac and getting back into gaming is that many of the games available on Steam are more PC friendly.

A shooter has to be really good for me to get it(and different). I actually love stealth games(Splinter Cell) and hand-to-hand combat games(God of War,Assassin's Creed) most of all.

Last Guardian does look awesome. I loved Shadow of the Colussus on my PS2, but only briefly played Ico. I felt really guilty playing Shadow actually. Like I was commiting some act of homicide everytime I took one of those beautiful behemoths out...

I really enjoy epic RPGs (specifically JRPGs), but haven't played any for quite a long time (due to the time involved) but my wife bought me Resonance of Fate for my PS3 for Xmas so I am hopefully going to get settled in with that for a few hours over the weekend...

I've not played any of them, but I've watched my boyfriend play Assassin's Creed II on his PS3 and from what he tells me it seems like a good game.

Well, Lincoln, judging by your name, I'd imagine you'd like something like Heavy Rain. Now i don't know how old you are (since I'm sooooo prolific in this forum ;) ), but if you're of age, perhaps a supposedly highly-regarded mystery whodunnit will be a good choice?

I just came across this game under, uhm, interesting circumstances, and was wowed by what I saw. I don't have a PS3 (unlikely in the near future), but if I were to get one, this would be on top of the list.

I ended up buying myself a PS3 and Heavy Rain was one of the first games I bought. I played it through from start to finish a few days ago. Absolutely amazing stuff, and a real continuation of the experiment that was Fahrenheit a number of years back, only cranked up in brilliance in every area.

Red Dead Redemption is a wonder, too. In Mexico now, shooting everything.

Me and Lincoln(We're twins irl) also had to take back God of War 3(Kept on messing up, great game though) back two times, and exchange it for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Personally, it is my favorite game of all time. We've already decided to get Infamous for our Birthday.

We got ours in '08. It came with Metal Gear Solid 4(?).
I use it to watch Netflix, Blu-rays, and DVDs. If you don't have Netflix already, I highly suggest you get it.
