This novel follows the early history of Nieuw Amsterdam (later named New York). You won't get bored with the historical stuff b/c most of the book follows the dramatic saga of a family; the American saga of pride and ambition, love and lust, love and hate...
I'm sure the book is lovely, but yeah, you're right... i'm lazy and haven't made the effort to look for the book yet. But I promise I'll look for it this weekend when I visit my local B&N's ;)

I like general fiction, true crime, poetry, and suspense novels. I wouldn't avoid them, but I wouldn't enjoy reading westerns or horror books. i haven't read many fantasy books, but i wouldn't mind trying a few out.
yeah... the Playground Love song by Air was pretty awesome. I downloaded some more Air stuff and i like them b/c i guess i'm into the mellow kind of stuff
Recently I have finished reading The Great Gatsby (which i truly enjoyed) now I am required to read The Crucible. If you have read it already: did you like it? whats it about?
Everytime I bring up The Virgin Suicides nobody knows what I'm talking about. It has a pretty dark and depressing tone to it but its such an awesome movie!
Has anybody else seen and enjoyed it?
