hey,

I think the site is very good, simple but nice. However some topics haven't been used for like... a year or something, shouldn't someone delete them?

All it takes for an old topic to become new again is for a newbie like yourself to find an interesting older thread to post to. Chances are some of the old-timers would chime in and the thread will take off for awhile. That's one of my favorite perks about forums like this. Old doesn't mean dead!

I mean, you have some that havent been used for quite a time, and I just think that they take in unessary space.. ( like at the Writersblock selection there are more than 11 pages.. if you go to the 11th one you see that most of them have been last responded to in 2003! see what I mean? )
and yes it does if you post to them but if it's that old I don't think anybody's gonna use it. you'd better start a new one. but it's just a suggestion, you don't have to do it.

I have no idea why you'd think erasing history is the proper thing to do.

I have no idea what you, or anybody else here would gain by doing something like that.

Use of space? What?

Think of it this way,

If a book in your local library does not get checked out once over the span of a few years, does that justify throwing the book into the fire?

I like digging through the old topics once in awhile. Interesting to see what people were talking about at different times. If the space is there, I say keep them around.

Agree 100%.

Storage is cheap these days. No need to erase unless absolutely necessary.

Exactly. The only one who can say whether something takes up "too much space" is Darren. I really don't think 11 pages can be considered a lot - especially not on what is supposedly a book forum.

ok, ok it was just a suggestion

Welcome to the wonderful word of B&R Lord_Kiwi.:D

Old threads do get revived. Mine on H.P. Lovecraft in the horror section is a great example. Not everyone reads the same book at the same time, so you have to let a bit of a time lapse to allow others to chime in. At any rate, is a good thing to have suggestions come in so we can evaluate how things are done and if anything needs changed. Conversation is good.:)

yeah, on the books selection I understand :) But anyways, I don't really care if they are deleted or not. just wanted to suggest it! :)

If you look up you'll might be able to see the joke flying over your head.

Then it would belong in the "general discussion" thread. This thread has a specific topic and it should stay to that. If you read the thread title, you will see it before your very eyes.

come come now. This sort of bickering is beneath us all.
