Looking for a decent fantasy series.

I have been away from this forum for many moons. Trying to get back into the swing of things now. I recommend any of the fantasy books by David Gemmel. Some are part of a series, but all can be read stand-alone.

    Advice Needed

I'll toss in a couple by Michael Farmer. Tin Soldiers and Iron Tigers The first is about a second war in Iraq (purely coincidence that it came out about the same time as the real one). The second follows most of the same characters through another conflict in the Mid-East. There is...

    Anyone remember this book?

AHA!!! I have this book at home, but since it is lunchtime, I did a bit of research. I searched 'ace double sf' (because I know it is an Ace Double) and found the following: Age Of Ruin by John M. Faucette along with Code Duello by Mack Reynolds.

Looking for a book, can't remember the title or the author... :(

I can't believe there hasn't been a response on this yet. You were reading A PLANET CALLED TREASON by Orson Scott Card. At least that is the current title. I think it may have been called just TREASON in a previous release. I don't know if it is in print, but it should not be too...

    Recommend 1 COMPLETED fantasy series

Are you sure she is through with the Blood series? I know there is another out, SMOKE AND SHADOWS, which stars one of the characters from the Blood books. As long as one is still going, then they are all still going (or so I say). Bond. Paul Bond.

    Favourite Standalone Fantasy

A specific title that I enjoyed immensely (and wish I still had) is EVIL BY NECESSITY by Eve Forward. Quick summary: GOOD has won the battle against EVIL, and peace and light fill the world. One by one the last of their foes are being tracked down and 'converted'. But a bare few EVIL...

    Military Sci-Fi

Some more possibilities are: David Sherman & Dan Cragg: Starfist series. Marines in the future. Fairly readable. 10 books in the series so far. Rick Shelley: 13th Spacebourne Assault Team Marine-like soldiers in the future. There are only 2 or 3 books here. He has another...

Looking for help finding a book...

It has been quite a while, but this sounds distantly similar to Robert Sheckley's "Status Civilization". But not quite. Perhaps it is another of his books. Hope this helps a little bit. Bond. Paul Bond.

    Tanya Huff: Keeper Series

Rune, I have and have read all 3 (?) of the Keeper books. I find them wonderful with a 'devilish' sense of humor. Pun intended, they are definitely Keepers!! Get them all as soon as you can and read them very fast. Bond. Paul Bond.

Trying to track down book title and author.

Oh aren't you the lucky one. The books (3) are by John Dechancie and are titled "Starrigger", "Red Limit Freeway", and "Paradox Alley". Since I don't have them handy, I am not sure if that is the reading order, but I think it is. Paul

    An Action Junkie

Hi. I'm one of the new kids on the block. Another good action author is James Rollins. I recently found him and rate his books very close to those of Matthew Reilly for "go get 'em" action. A possibility is Jack Du Brul. I have found a few of his books at used book stores, but have not...
