    Wonderful, wonderful books

If I'm reading a book that I truly am enjoying it gives me sort of a eye. I can feel a little relaxed, a little happy and sometimes giddy. Then when the books ends I'm in search of another good book which I can not seem to find too often.

The Illusionist I saw The Illusionist this evening and thought it was well done. I truly enjoyed it. Edward Nortons and Jessica Beil's accents were forgiveable because they gave great performances, and Rufus Sewell is always a treat - yummy - even with his wandering eye. My only...

    Question Game

I'm not sure if this would be considered a recipe or not but I love to eat Wendy's (fastfood) Fries and Frosty together. I take the fries and dip and scoop them into the icecream. Yum. My friends turned up their noses until they tried it themselves. How tall are you?

Are you picky about the condition of your books?

I try and keep my books in good condition but I always manage to crinkle a page here and there by falling asleep with a book, or it will be dirty with tea or jam because I'm eating and reading. I also don't mind used books but I cannot stand extremely old books that have that funky smell.

HELP- does anyone know the proper pronounciation of this W&P Character?

I would have to agree it is pronounced ma-ree-a. If the character were English than it would be ma-ry-ha.

    Reading Frenzy

I haven't seen the film but I did have a strong feeling that the makers wouldn't make it as dreary as the book (heaven forbid it should be true to the book). McCourt second book is 'Tis and I started reading it this afternoon. I figure I'll give it a go since I read his first book and I also...

    Reading Frenzy

I've been in a reading frenzy for the past week and have finished three books which is not like me. Usually I'm reading 5 books at once and it takes a month to finish them. I just finished Ahab's Wife by Sena J. Naslund and loved it except I thought it was a bit long. Towards the end I was...

    The Ice Man

The Ice Man back cover. I haven't read the book but saw the HBO doc on The Ice Man and thought it was interesting to see into the mind of a killer-for-hire. **************** There were times at home when Richard would have one of his outbursts and break things and then lock himself in his...

Wilkie Collins: The Woman In White

Moonstone is next on my list. I read the intro to my copy of The Women in White (unabridged) and there is some belief that this story was loosely based on Collins' relationship with his two women. Evidently he was living as husband and wife, or wives, with two women, had children with them and...

Wilkie Collins: The Woman In White

I just finished reading The Women in White by WIlkie Collins and truly enjoyed it. The characters were well developed and the author kept my interest. I laughed, got sad, and even got mad throughout the read but that's what kept me going. The last part could have been made shorter but its a...
