    Wolf in Shadow- Underrated masterpeice.

I really enjoyed his "White Wolf" and "Swords of Night and Day".:D Now I will have to try "Wolf in Shadow". He creates some of the best fantasy characters, then tops it off with lots of great action.

    How much reading time?

For me, it depends on how good the book is. The better the book the more time I will find. Even with a slow, dull book I will get in at least 2 to 3 hours a day.

    Baseball fans?

it's nice to see the old expos get a permanent home instead of being the stepchild of the MLB. I think Washington is a good location for a national league team. Now that the American league has decided to play small ball wouldn't it be great to see some national league team come up with another...

    Recommendations for a Fantasy "Newb"

Spineshank, Sara Douglass has a series called Crucible. I am about 50 pages away from finishing the second book and I am still not sure just who the truely bad guys are. She does a good job of keeping me guessing. This story is a good mix of medieval history with angels and demons.

    What about Van Vogt?

I have a very positive opinion for Van Vogt's stories. Of course, I must confess to be like Oystein's father. I grew up on this stuff, and I still enjoy it today. I like the stories about smoking scientists in outer space and pointy rocketships. Hey, this stuff wasn't written for great...

Any recommendation for the Pacific War?

I know this reply is late, but hey I just joined the other day. Anyway, I just finished reading "Lightning Strike: the secret mission to kill Admiral Yamamoto and avenge Pearl Harbor" by Don Davis. It's a great read about the battles of Guadalcanal. I have more if you are still interested.
