just bought : "As it is in heaven" which had been nominated for a foreign film Oscar (can't remember the year). Producer Kay Pollock (Swedish or Danish - excuse my ignorance  )
It was recommended to me by a friend and shows small town...

last sentence
It's not from the book I'm reading now, but the following kept me wanting more:
from the Fiery Cross: Diana Gabaldon
"When the day shall come, that we do part" he said softly, and turned to look at me, "if my last words are not 'I love you' - ye'll ken it was because I didna...
when I read
Three kids, a full-time job and a DH all demand time away from reading - so I've developed the habit of ALWAYS having my book with me and if I have to wait outside hockey practice or anywhere else - I pick up my book! I also try to get my DH to drive so I can read some more pages in...

Ok, I'm blond !!
Didn't realize I had to drill down further into the sub-forums. Just struck lucky when it worked under the FAQ one.
Oh well, thanks anyway - the bump tip is a good one...

How do you start new threads? Why do I not always have that option? I have started one in the test page but that doesn't invite discussion.
Am I missing...
psychological thriller
I found Enduring Love - by Ian McEwan haunting.
How a stalker can make you go mad, ruin your life, relationships, sometimes only even by suggestion...........

overrated books?
I actually liked A Million Little Pieces by Frey. I don't care if it was partially true, or not - that argument was purely a commercial marketing one imo.
What I liked about it was:
- the writing style, you just felt the anger through the words but also how it was written...
Hi Karen
Welcome Karen, I'm new here too but there are more than enough opinions around to keep you off the streets! Enjoy and good luck with the sales of your book :)

da vinci code
The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown
Though it was widely popular, I didn't really like the book. It disappointed me, too superficial somehow. (no offense to anyone who did like it of course)
my reads
This month, managed to read:
The Other Boleyn Girl - Philippa Gregory
Open House - Elizabeth Berg
Twelve Sharp - Janet Evanovich
A man without a country- Kurt Vonnegut (didn't like this one, too cynical without creative ideas - maybe he's just getting too old)
plus a Dutch...
