Okay, what was the last music you bought or downloaded?

I'll start. Yesterday I bought Olivia Tremor Control's Dusk at Cubist Castle. It's not new, but I just now got around to buying it. Lots of bright, jangly psychedelic rock. I think it'll be great for driving in the car this summer with the windows down and cranked up really LOUD.

:D

Bought; nothing.

Downloaded; a lot. The latest, a couple of Joss Stone tracks (she's fantastic) and a couple of Three Doors Down tracks (rather good).

Cheers, Martin :D

Just joined Columbia House, so I have 15 CD's coming. :D Mostly new pop (Jessica Simpson, Train) old faves (Huey Lewis, a Muppet soundtrack, Eagles) and stuff for my mom (Natalie Cole, Linda Eder.)

Jessica Simpson? Seriously? Britney Spears Light (if you can get any lighter than Britney Spears).

Cheers, Martin :D

It's that "With You" song. It's so sweet. :p (Not even mentioning that Hilary Duff stuff I downloaded. )

Hahaha . . .

Each to his (or in this case, her) own, right! Have fun with it!

Cheers, Martin :D

The last music I bought was a Lord of the Rings trilogy boxset of soundtracks, with cool glossy pics of the characters included as a bonus! All for £12.99 - bargain!

Used my free pepsi code download on iTunes to get Carolyn Dawn Johnson's Simple Life. I LOVE that song.

Last CD I got was Herb Alpert - Definitive Hits, but that was a present so maybe it doesn't count. It's a bit sad I s'pose, but it has all sorts of good stuff on it. Zorba the Greek, Casino Royale, and best of all, Spanish Flea. Sometimes I wish I was a little Spanish flea. Sigh.

If I remember correctly, my last music purchases were:
Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey
Mark O'Connor - I can't think of the title, but it's his Django/Grapellie inspired hot swing trio (and they are smokin').
Gov't Mule - Dose

Jeez, i havnt bought a CD in months!!

Last one was ....... Coldplay - Sudden Rush of Blood to the Head (cant remember the proper name) - and that took some thinking about!

Oh, plus some god awful R&B compilation to listen to in the car!!

Phil

I dont think I've bought a cd for almost a year or so... I think the last one I got was...ummm...bugger if I know

The last song I "downloaded" was "great southern land" By Icehouse A truly classic Australian song :D

Okay, Funes, I really like Govt Mule too
Martin, I agree with Three Doors Down. Not bad for a newer band. Kinda catchy.
Ashlea... Jessica Simpson & Hilary Duff??? You poor, poor girl. We should devote a thread just to your therapy.(maybe some form of electric shock every time you touch one of their CDs) :D

The last CDs I bought were Songbird and Time After Time by Eva Cassidy. They're not my usual style but DAMN what a voice!!!

And I recently had a friend burn a few old Montrose CDs for me.

There's nothing wrong with liking happy, girly music. :)

I also downloaded a lot of country stuff. Y'all would hate it.

I love country music! The other stuff you downloaded, though, is really not my thing ;)

Ashlea,
I hope, since you're in Texas, that you meant real country music (Townes Van Zandt, Bob Wills, etc.) and not that horrid pop-country stuff. But, to each his own.
RaVen,
If you get the chance, check out Gov't Mule's concert DVD. I think it's called The Deepest End. 3 and 1/2 hours of music and it didn't even include the whole show.

I really like what we've been referring to as "Texas country": Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert Earl Keen, Kelly Willis, Bruce and Charlie Robison. Good stuff.
