I just bought The Railway by Hamid Ismailov, off eBay. He's from Uzbekistan, abecedarian, if you are still looking for something to read from there.

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins

I finished this earlier on this week. It was a very good read, marred only by some science that I couldn't quite get my head round, perhaps due to sheer scope. But it's after that section, which comes early, that the book's pace picks up.

Nice haul SFG!

Really! I think we should all go shopping with him next time! Wouldn't it be fun if we could really do that? Of course we'd drive the staff insane, but think of the fun and adventure if we really could all meet up to book shop...

I think the idea of all of us shopping at a booksale is incredibly appealing. The noise and laughs, the looking at each other's hauls during and after the purchases, the fistfights for the only copy of a coveted title... ahhhh....

Fistfights? Indian arm wrestling maybe:p

I just bought We Killed Mangy Dog, a collection of short stories from Mozambique. The author is Luis Bernardo Honwana.

It would seem I got a bit lucky here as I only paid £2.49 for it. There are three copies for sale on Amazon priced at £20.00, £36.87, or £70.63 respectively. All are used. Mine's would seem to be unread.

Gladiatrix: The True Story of History's Unknown Woman Warrior by Amy Zoll

I discovered it at a reduced price bookstore today. I only paid $2.12 for it. Guess I should put all of my history books together on the shelves.

I just broke down and bought a copy of King's Lisey's Story. I sure hope it's better than Bag of Bones and Dreamcatcher were.

This weekend I bought at walden books:

March UpCountry by David Weber and John Ringo
Well of Darkness by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
Guardians Of The Lost by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
Journey Into The Void by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
Queen Of the Damned by Anne Rice

Had to buy the first four so I could get the fifth one free :D :D :D

I was tempted to do that offer, but then I wouldn't have had enough money to get the DVD of Howl's Moving Castle later on in the day and I really, really wanted that movie. ;) Still I used my personal shopping day with my Borders reward card and saved 10% on my purchases.

I had some free time to fritter away and ended up with 3 books:

The Penguin Book of Vampire Stories (£0.99)
Noughts & Crosses - Malorie Balckman (£1.59)
Angels and Demons - Dan Brown (free)

I only get Dan Brown's books when they are £0.50 or less. Today a second hand shop had 2 for the price of 1 on paperback fiction, and I couldn't find anything else that I knew I wanted, so I went for the Brown. :p
