In that case you may be interested in The Life of Ian Fleming by John Pearson.
No thanks. I just want girls and gadgets.
This weekend at the beach I needed some good smut so per: lennynero's recommendation I picked up The Rooms by Michael Hemmingson. YIKES!
I also bought:
The Third Secret by Steve Berry started that this morning. Not bad.
Asylum - Patrick McGrath
You little swine, you. It was you, wasn't it, that got the copy off eBay last night.
I was waiting until the last minute but got distracted by that nonce wanting us to do his coursework for him and missed on doing a bit of literary gazumping.

The memo! What memo?
I like images. Say it isn't so.
Not a memo, but a thread where most people moaned about people posting images in non-image threads...like this one.
Let's not forget, also, that aside from it being annoying you are posting images that directly affect the bandwidth of other sites without their knowledge.
I've read both Achebe novels now (No Longer at Ease 7/10, A Man of the People 8/10) and took notes whilst doing so. When I get time I'll review them.
Anyway, a trip to London included getting the following:
South of No North by Charles Bukowski
The File on H by Ismail Kadare
Envy by Yury Olesha
Soul Mountain, Gao Xingjian
Are you certain we aren't related? This one is on my wish list. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of Soul Mountain.
Delighted to see Patrick McGrath is (almost) sparking bidding wars... Maybe next time, eh Stew?
And bought. Cheers, Shade.
As A Man Grows Older, Italo Svevo
I'd be interested in what you think of that. I have "Confessions of Zeno" by Svevo on my TBR list...
Well, if it's a thin book, I'll try to read it as soon as.
Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub
City of The Night by Dean Koontz
Destiny's Road by Larry Niven
All the Names - Jose Saramago
The Flanders Panel - Arturo Perez Reverte
Shalimar the Clown - Salman Rushdie
Amsterdam - Ian McEwan
Separate names with a comma.
