Troy or King Arthur?

Another version of KIng Arthur

Seems there is a new version of King Arthur coming soon. There seemed many versions of this story, such as Arthur and the roundtable Knights, even the Mist of Avalon has something to do with this king Arthur. Well, no particular questions, only wondering what you think about it. That's all. :)

T.H. White's Once and Future King is the most eloquently written version of the story I believe. I am personally interested to see what Bruckhemyer does with the movie coming up. There are a lot of cheap remakes about this story, I'm hoping that it comes out good.

suddenly striked by a question: why they always make something about this story. Can't they find some other legendary stroies?

Well, they do. Look at Gladiator, Braveheart, Troy.

That said, the legend of King Arthur is just one of the best legends out there.

I saw a trailer, in which Guinevere looked very much like Xena. So I have rather a bad feeling about this.

A sudden thought: why in no film there is a part when Arthur orders to kill all little boys in his kingdom?

Oh, you mean Keira Knightly?

Not really the guinevere I had in mind, but damn! I'm going to see that film!

Care to elaborate?

I'm not really familiar with both stories/legends. So, still, care to elaborate?

And yeah, where is Gabrielle?

The part where King Arthur kills little boys. I always thought that was Herod.
It seems like killing little boys was very popular amongst kings in ancient times.;)

King Arthur accidentally slept with his own sister (he didn't know it was her due to magic), and she gave birth to a boy. When Arthur found out the truth, he wasn't happy, probably mostly because there was a prophecy that the child will destroy him. So, to avoid that, and to get rid of a child who was his son and his nephew at the same time, (which gave him an undeniable right to the throne, as a nephew was first to inherit the crown, even before a king's own son; so, even if Arthur had a son with Guinevere, this son wouldn't be his heir), he had all little boys killed. Surprisingly, one of them managed to survive.

I hope I made it clear why the child from incestuous relationship was so dangerous for Arthur. There were really weird rules of heritage. I forgot to mention, that one of the Arthur's knights was his nephew, but when Mordred was born, he was the one to take everything.

This new movie is intriguing, as it is not set in the medieval/courtly love aspect of the later versions of the stories, but concentrating on the actual century that King Arthur would've lived in. Guenevire is a Pictish princess, hence the costuming (Pict women fought in battle.) I hope it will live up to its promise.

wow---------. Firstly for this: 'King Arthur accidentally slept with his own sister (he didn't know it was her due to magic', so the mist of avalon has something real about the story?

Seconly, for this:' When Arthur found out the truth, he wasn't happy, probably mostly because there was a prophecy that the child will destroy him.' Sounds familar. Isn't that a repetition of myth of greece?

King Arthur

Well I just got back from seeing the King Arthur movie. My review follows:

It was good, but some parts were very cheeeeeesy. But the girl who played Guenevere is HOT!!

Don't know much about it. I will have to find out some information on this movie. I think I would like to go to the movies and see it. Don't think they can beat ridley scott's excalibur!
