Gasp! I just had a horrible thought. What if it's Hermione and Ron! Noooooooooo(ad infinitum).

I musn't think such horrible things. Here's hoping it's Pettigrew and Snape (although he may surprise us yet), if you discount the obvious Voldy death.

I was discounting Voldy. I think Snape will surprise us, I just hope he doesn't die to do it.

I can imagine she'd kill out Ron & Hermione! What a thought! I hope it isn't the twins.

Predordered the book yesterday. They (Norwegian online bookstore) promise to deliver the book on the releasedate. The first 500 who ordered it got it for 19,80Euro/26USD/13,30GBP, normal price is 31Euro/40,70USD/20,90GBP. I was between the first 500:)

Play.com sells it for 11.99GBP, but I will not risk to get it to late since they must ship it overseas.

Can't wait!!! I've all read confirmed with my boss that I'll be having holiday that week:)

I'm thinking of asking for the day off as well, Baddie, and possibly the next couple of days too, so that I can hole up in my flat with the curtains drawn and ignore any knocks on the door for as long as it takes me to finish. Coffee and two-minute noodles, see you in July!

I have never preordered any of the books. I get them the day they're released when the bookstore opens. It works just as well, and I don't pay as much (at least with my discount :D)

I already preordered two copies--one for me and one for my brother--last time I went to Border's. I just want to make sure I don't get there and find out they're all sold out. I think I'll actually go up at midnight and get it for once. I'm very excited...

...you should come with me, Vesp. :(

I showed up at midnight for the last one...it was a lot of fun, but I am not a night person. I ended up coming home as soon as I got the book and fell asleep. I began reading it as soon as I got up and showered the next morning.

Our bookstore doesn't have the vouchers yet for preordering, but I plan to preorder it through them again, as I get a 50% discount.

I am soooo glad I am a teacher and have the summer off. Now I don't have to worry about taking time off to read it.

I don't know why, but I went ahead and pre-ordered a copy of the final installment when I received a newsletter from Barnes & Noble in my e-mail. Well, it said save 40% off the list price and since I have an account there, it was easy to place the order. Now I'll just cut off contact from the rest of the world for a few days until it arrives. I won't have the death scene spoiled in this one like all the others have been.

Ohhhh, who spoiled a death scene for you? That really sucks. I too am afraid of being told anything about the final book beforehand. Maybe I'll stay at home with the radio and television off from now until July, only venturing out to get the book (and to see OotP, of course :) )

I preorder for the same reason. Never had a death scene spoiled, but I've been afraid of it. I shut myself away - no tv, no radio, etc.

Books 4 & 5 = best friend
Book 6 = girl friend's boyfriend when he noticed the book lying on the coffee table after another girl had just given me her extra copy of the novel. (Oh, there would have been blood shed if he wasn't going out with my friend because I had cut myself off the HP message boards for a week to keep from being spoiled before I got a chance to read it.)

I selected the three days shipping option so if it ships out the day of it's release I will only have to survive for three days. You guys will probably not see me during that time until it has arrived and been read! ;)

Neville will not die - he will be Herbology professor eventually.

A Weasley will die (at least one) - one of the twins would be angsty enough. but not Percy. He doesn't need to die to redeem himself, just say sorry.

Snape will likely die - a shame but the demands of his role suggest it.

I hope neither Harry or Voldemort die, but they both lose their magic. Or else, one dies and one loses their magic (preferably Harry dies and V loses his magic). Both shouldn't die.

Malfoy will live.
Bellatrix will die.

I hope Tonks or Lupin die - one or the other, so they are not all cosied-up in lurve at the end of the last book.

Buy the day of or pre-order?

Just wondering how you are planning getting your final copy: have you already pre-ordered your copy or are you going to go to the store the day of the release to get your copy?

I've pre-ordered my copy and have made sure that its delivered to my house, as I am not sure where I am going to be the day that the book is released; I could be at home or I could be up at my parents place near Kamloops on the day of the release and I have no intention of braving the crowds at the store; apparently Canada Post will have it at my house on the day of the release; I hope that is the case.

I pre-ordered the last book and had it delivered. Seem like it arrived the day of the release, so that's what I'm doing with the latest. This way I get first dibs on the copy that is addressed to me:D

If I don't receive the book the day it's released, I don't know if I could bear it.

That's why I had it sent to the house.. I just don't want it bad enough to fight the mobs of kids at Borders. If it comes the next day or two I bet I live just the same:D

Oh, I'm sure you'll bear up just fine.

I'm sorely tempted to join the hoopla with my daughter and her pals and dress up as Sybil Trelawney. Costumed persons get line preference. Last time, I just nipped in Target early, went home and did the "jump ball" and lost.
