Well-Known Member
To commemorate a decade of BAR membership, (wow! a decade) I am having a contest. Since it’s my 10th anniversary, the contest is all about me, Occlith. The answers to almost all the questions can be found by searching Book & Reader. The last question you will have to guess.

The winner receives a $20.00 USD e-gift card from Amazon. Obviously you must have an Amazon.com account to use the e-card.

Send your answers to me by conversation.

The contest will close when I am sent correct answers to all the questions or Monday, 7 July 2014 when the member who sent the most correct answers first will be selected. Good Luck.

Questions:

On what thread was my first post?

What was the first thread I created?

What song did I listen to on January 13 2009?

What novelist did I interview?

I posted a book search and eventually found the book years later. What is that book’s title?

What poll did I post here that was locked at a different site?

I created some new fashions for someone’s avatar. What was the avatar?

I wrote a poem about Thomas Kinkade; what is the title?

According to me, what band is the best rock band ever?

What is the source of my username?

I've had many avatars over the years but which was the first?

In the name of fairness, I will not participate.

As an aside, if you don't resemble

in real life, I am going to be disappointed.

If I am to meet with a disappointment, the sooner I know it, the more of life I shall have to wear it off. ― Thomas Jefferson

Okay kiddies, you have until midnight Occlith Time (aka Pacific Time) to get your answers in.

Here’s how the results stand - - Sparkchaser decided to participate after all and sent the second most correct answers in a timely manner. Sneezy answered the most answers correctly but replied past the deadline.

As this contest is all about me Occlith, I have allowed my finite powers of wisdom and mercy to get the better of me and so have decided to award Sneezy and Sparkchaser a $20.00 gift card each.

Sneezy got 9 of 11 correct. Sparkchaser had 7 correct. Please send me your email addys for your prizes.

I shall only accept your gracious decision if you recommend a book for me to spend my spoils upon.

And I now hate Teletubbies even more than I did before. I had no idea that was possible.

Ack. I just realized the last one was right there. Jeez, direction following fail.

Hmmm. Without Teletubbies, my recommendation list has vastly shrunk.
Shall consider...

So I suppose question 12 should be "What should I do with my new-found Occlith knowledge?"

Sneezy, my recommendations are The Martian by Andy Weir or Poor Man's Fight by Elliott Kay. I have not yet read either but they both had good reviews.

I have read neither, so done. I have a sneaking suspicion you chose books that fit my profile.

Did ye stalk me in return, dear Occlith?
