    TBF: Moderation Issues

I agree Ruby. What gets me is that every now and again there has to be these 'witch hunts' some people just have to make a very big issue out of things. It was done with Martin , and Sitram and now Wabbit is the bad guy. Hey Novella you want to apply for Chief Moderator? Why can't you guys play...

    TBF: Moderation Issues

Would just like to point out that Wabbit's total of 7,924 posts isn't exactly what you'd call a sign of laziness or sitting back. Actually this is the sort of grouching and back-stabbing that made me lose interest.

    Stephen King: On Writing

I enjoyed On Writing, it was an interesting read, both as an insight into his life and for the useful tips, although a lot of what he says is common sense. I liked "don't let the facts get in the way of a good story", that was one of my stumbling blocks. Its a good, encouraging read, don't...

Vladimir Nabokov, Collected Stories. With sixty-five short stories in one book it has to be a literary treasure chest.

A Glass Jar Filled With Flies

I’ve often wondered about this too, and as Gem pointed out there are many ways to reply; In response to SFG75's 'what we accomplish...' We might have made great advances but ecologically I think Man's presence on earth has certainly made a difference. If the 'Overall scheme' was that Man...

Under the Tuscan Sun - Frances May Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell - Susanna Clarke I had to buy 'Under the Tuscan Sun' after seeing the movie but I've heard the book differs quite a lot. Be interesting to see which is the better version.

    East-West Dialogue: Rex & Sitaram

A very interesting discussion Sitaram and I have noted all the books you refer to but so many, where does one start? Do you think 'The World of Zen - an East/West Anthology, edited by Nancy Wilson Ross' might be little heavy going for a beginner?

    Wish

I wasn't familiar with 'The Lonely Crowd' :o so, as a bookaholic, did a quick search and found the poetry of Fernando Pessoa. His 'Yes, I Know It's All Quite Natural" gave me a smile. For a lonely isolated man he seemed to have quite a sense of humour. I only found a few snippets but I...

    Wish

It was Edwrd Hopper's painting of the man sitting alone at the all-night bar that inspired the name, Sitaram. I am the late night prowler, I am the Nighthawk! - albeit, female :p :D Yes it is a great painting. I particularly like the way he stands outside in the night, another loner...
