Books you have bought but haven't read yet

Bren says:

"Oh, and The Road by Cormac McCarthy, I bought new, but am finishing something else and want to savor the McCarthy a bit."

The postapocalyptic book about a boy and his father? Good choice, that one...

I have a few books i've bought and haven't read yet:
Empress Orchid by Anchee Min

Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire

A few I can think of:

The Hornet's Nest - Jimmy Carter

Becoming Strangers - Louise Dean
This Book will save your life - AM Homes
.................and so the list goes on!!

I feel pleased with myself that I finally finished Kostova's The Historian, which has been sitting on my bookshelf untouched for six months, I think, since I bought it.

The bought The House of Gucci by Sara Gay Forden. It's about the history of the Gucci family, including the 1995 murder of Maurizio Gucci. I started it, but ended up being distracted by a Stephen King re-read: Rose Madder.

I am going to do a speed type of the many un-read books on my shelf. It is depressing because I am taking forever trucking through East of Eden (I do love it, though) while I look at all the marvelous books on my shelf! It is unfair that I can't read fast enough!:p
Okay, my list:
The End
Wuthering Heights
The Joke
The Time Traveller's Wife
Animal Farm
Tess of the D'Urbervilles
The Crystal cave
The catcher in the rye
The Bell Jar
And then there were none
books 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the narnia chronicles
Immortality
Mrs. Dalloway
Of human bondage
alice through the looking glass
a portrait of the artist as a young man
Atonement
Madeleine is Sleeping

The Handmaid's Tale
Cat's Eye

I don't buy unless I've already read a copy from the library, so I have several books that have been bought or given as presents but only referred to. I also have hundreds of my late fathers books wich I've neither bought nor read.

I have way too many to list. There's loads of books that I bought 5 -6 years ago that are still on my TBR pile. Oh, the shame.... :p

I have a few:

The Great Divorce
Wicked
Chronicles (Bob Dylan autobiography)
Farenheight 451
East of Eden
The Great Gatsby
The Count of Monty Cristo
1984
Cat's Cradle
Slaughterhouse-Five

-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.
-A Spot Of Bother By Mark Haddon * Tuwams got it for me =$ *
-The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
-Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
-The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.
-Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts.
-Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

I'm still slowly nibbling away at that TBR mountain. I would say it's around 140 titles at the moment. Getting down there. This time last year it was close to 200 books.
