I keep coming back to two books I read several years ago, both dealing with women's history and centering around the homefires:

A Thousand Years Over A Hot Stove: A History of American Women Told through Food, Recipes, and Remembrances by Laura Schenone

Eat My Words: Reading Women's Lives Through the Cookbooks They Wrote by Janet Theophano

Even if they aren't chosen for our purposes, I hope some of you will read them on your own and let me know what you think!

I think we're looking for nonfiction for December. I have a book from the library called The Grapes of Math. It is really clever, but I don't think we'd get much discussion from it
