Martin, why are you a compulsive liar?

n 1: someone who is regarded as contemptible [syn: twerp, twirp]

contemptible

adj 1: deserving of contempt or scorn [ant: estimable] 2: worthy only of being despised and rejected; "a contemptible lack of courage"; "A little, wretched, despicable creature, a worm, a mere nothing...that has risen up in contempt against the majesty of Heaven and earth"- Jonathan Edwards [syn: despicable]

Freya:

Martin, why are you a compulsive liar?

My life isn't interesting enough, so I have to make things up, or people will mock me.

Happy now?

No, actually, your post was the 1000th post, but the 999th reply. Beefcake had the hono(u)r.

What is a "blood-substitution" in rugby union?

That's when someone is replaced because of bloodshed.

What job does Phil Larder do?

England's assistant/defense coach.

Is Urs Meier guilty of influencing the outcome of sporting events?

No, he's merely human.

Who will win the most medals at the olympics this year?

I can't look into the future, mate. But the US have a good chance.

Themistocles:

What is the ultimate question to the ultimate answer?

What is 6 multiplied by 7?

Bloody 'ell, how many times can you fit this little guy ---> :D on a single page of a thread?

Easy.

A maximum of 10.000 characters per post. That particular smilie has two characters; the : and the D. Add to that the space between the individual smilies and we reach a total of three characters per smilie. Divide the maximum 10.000 by those three, and we come to the conclusion that we can have 3.333 such smilies per post. A page contains a maximum of 15 such posts, which would lead us to the inevitable conclusion that you can post a maximum of 49.995 smilies per thread-page.

However, considering that smilies are considered an image, and only fifteen images are allowed per post, this severely narrows down the maximum ammount of possible smilies per thread-page. Fifteen posts with fifteen smilies each leads us to the rather meagre sum of 225 smilies per page.

Is Martin allowed to wonder about things? And I don't mean just the odd bit of musing here and there. I mean really wonder.

No.

No, he isn't. And cast him into the shadowy pits of hell (or London, if you're Silly Wabbit) if and when he does.

That said, how could someone who knows all ever wonder?

I was trying to figure out yesterday how the moon always faces earth on the same side, but still rotates. I read the details on the NASA site, but I still can't visualize it. Can you find a diagram?
