Makes sense. Young adults need more of the library's resources for school projects, they've also grown up with libraries at school so it's an environment they're used to. And they usually don't have lots of money to buy books, so borrowing would be the method of choice.

Oh, dear. I think perhaps I might be the youngest on these forums. I am 13, but I've always been around people older than me as I started school young and skipped a year/grade/class (whatever the expression appropriate for your particular schooling system :p ). :]

I am 19 years old, I have read since I was 12. I started with kiddie fiction like the 7th tower, harry potter, deltora quest, and the lost years of merlin. Now, I mainly read history and political science books when I am on break from school, but I still read fiction.

Entire family reads

My wife and I are in our late 40's and read quite a bit, but my 11 year old son is reading us out of house and home! lol
When he's not outside, he has a book in his hand pretty much all the time.

Definitely over 40, errrrr maybe over 50.........But its gratifying to see so many readers of all ages. Theres nothing like the weight of a book in your hands, new universes to explore........

I always loved reading, started in elemantary school, took a break a while and started up again 2-3 years ago.
In my 30's I had this thing about "shoes", now I walk into the bookstore and I get the same feeling about books. Excitement, elation, my heart thumping....weird huh?

I am 40:)

Well thank you, but that is a picture from my youth many years ago.
And I think my hill is older, anyway. It has many little hillocks. :)

I am 31, and have loved books since my early childhood - I literally cut my teeth on Enid Blyton! I am happiest when I'm in a bookstore; usually I find a spot on the floor somewhere and just paw my way through the shelves looking for 'buried treasure'. My home is littered with books and magazines - and I'm hoping to pass this love for reading on to my son (he's five and already has a veritable library in his room!)... :D

What a lovely thread, it's brilliant to see such a range of people on this forum, and age is only one of the variables.

I'm 27, and started reading when I was very young, I can't remember a time before reading. I read constantly as a child, first Enid Blyton, then 'scary' stuff, then the classics during my early teens. At 14 I kind of discovered boys, so the books went on hold for a while... I go through periods where I don't read much, but am still interested in them and their discussions and reviews.
