You know you're addicted to reading when...

When you have not finished 1 book and have 12 more waiting in the wings and you are ordering more,

Or you read during lunch hour and you look up and two hours have past,

When little white crabs are crawling around on your nutsack. It just shows what the power of fiction can do to you.

My doctor says otherwise, but I know he's full of shit.

When you own so many books that you cannot find the one you want and end up with multiple copies of the same book!

Also when your house is over run by books, book cases lining the walls in every room and every spare bit of wall space is covered with heaving book shelves.

When your SO says - why do you have to have ten books on the night stand and a heap more on the floor next to your bed? Can you read all of them at once? See, my side of the bed? Only three books, so there! Pack rat! ; p

You buy a new book and your spouse kisses you goodbye. My husband does this every time with a pitiful "I'll miss you." (smart-ass)

You go to the library to pick up your stack of interlibrary loans, and while the librarian is gathering them, you crane your neck to peek at what books others have ordered..just in case:p

When your house starts to look like the home of a 90 year old crazy recluse. I have three full bookcases that are already spilling over, plue several piles of books on the floor. My boyfriend says our apartment looks like it belongs to some crazy old lady who never leaves her house. Why bother when I have so many great books to read?:p

When everyone at the library knows you by name, even the ones you've never seen say: "Hey, we recieved a few new books, and we wanted you to see them first."

Actually happens every time I go to the library.

Yup! I've even been asked to submit a list of my personal recommendations since the library was given a large grant. That was fun.

Guilty as well.

When you go to the library and the librarians ask you if you have anything to pick up, even though you don't have anything to pick up :)

Guilty as charged. As well as for that checking out the ILL requests of other patrons.

I guess I should add this one:
"... you set aside a box to hold your collection of bookmarks. Certain books need certain bookmarks after all."

When "something comes up" and you have guests or an obligation to go to. You then become annoyed and slightly testy the entire evening as your reading time has been infringed upon.:D
