Other forums?

I tried one before I found BAR, but got out because the posters were not welcoming to newcomers or new ways and were not respectful of each other.

That's easy enough to find!

But answering the question, yes, I visit other forums, mostly to lurk, and see what other people's opinions are about what is worth reading.

There are three or four book forums I post in regularly, two crochet/yarn-related forums. a cooking forum I mostly lurk at now and then, several frugality forums I've been haunting lately-not posted yet, just lurking... an embarrasing number of yahoo groups-I really only post on two, and a number of homeschooling forums I'm pretending don't exist...I really need a 12-Step Program for forums:whistling:

Ooops! Silly me, I forgot about power-surge.com...must have been a hormonally induced moment of amnesia!

Actually, I belong to one other book forum. I like this arrangement because I get a good mix of books for the Book of the Month. One BOTM is not enough because I go through the book fairly quickly. Two is enough for me. When I'm done with the two books for the BOTM, I read my own choices. And in my spare time, I write and paint. (I make it sound like the BOTM is my job. LOL!)

This is the only book-based forum I visit on a regular basis. Though "a regular basis" doesn't count for much as I've been lacking in my attendance over the last year as I've been on shakey internet connections and my internet time has been severely cut. Not that I'm complaining, I'm rather glad I've been going to my lectures and socialising. ;) But I always come back, and thats the thing that matters.

I'm not keen on frequenting too many forums, I prefer to know the community a bit more. Even if it is just from lurking and catching up infrequently.

The Aquatic Community forum and the Modeling Madness forum. Two of my other passions besides books - aquariums and scale modeling.
